I've hardly had time to look at the news or this blog this week, with lots of projects going on. I hope to have a bit more time over the weekend. The busy pace may continue for another 2 weeks.

reuters wire piece today on fort mchenry's presence in the gulf of guinea. last friday there was state dept propaganda article on the same, titled U.S. Ship To Host Multinational Experts off African Coast which features a picture of the ship in senegal. credit on the photo reads "(U.S. Navy)".
today, MSNBC is running the reuters wire story along w/ the same photo from the state department site, only this time it's credited to (AP Photo/Rebecca Blackwell)".
exact same picture. so whose is it? the navy's, i'd figure, based on the original at the state dept site. so why is MSNBC putting it on a reuters story and crediting it to an Associated Press photographer?
smells, or rather, looks like state propaganda to me...

Thanks again for the tips. I finally got a little something written this evening. We are organizing some Ghana projects right now, so I'm busy at work and at home for another week or two.
